01Is it for you?

Is Domaine de Manville right for your stay?

Why choose it
Rooms, suites and houses give different ways to stay, while the golf course, spa and family facilities make it a useful alternative to a more dining-led country retreat.
Who it suits
Families — the Family Loft Suites have two bedrooms, the villas three or four with a kitchen, and the Kids' Club takes children of three to twelve at weekends and in the school holidays — and golfers, and anyone who wants a day at the hotel to have a pool, a spa and a course in it. Baumanière, on the other side of the village, is the other way round: the tables first, the estate's houses around them.
What to consider
It is not simply a less expensive Baumanière: it is a different kind of stay, a resort estate on the plain rather than a restaurant with houses. Golf, the Kids' Club and spa treatments are arranged separately and are never assumed in our price — your quotation says what is included — and a villa is a house with its own kitchen, never priced as a double room.

02The hotel

The hotel and its rooms

Domaine de Manville is the Saut family’s estate on the plain below Les Baux-de-Provence, a farm turned into a country hotel inside the Alpilles regional park, with its houses set around an 18-hole golf course. The 30 rooms and suites look onto an inner courtyard with a fountain and the pool; the nine villas stand out on the estate, each a house with three or four bedrooms, a kitchen and a terrace towards the course and the hills.

It is the Alpilles base for a party that wants something to do at the hotel between the village days: the course, a 600 m² spa with a heated indoor pool, a Kids’ Club for children of three to twelve, and the Bistro open every day of the year. For the region around it, our Provence page covers the villages, when to go and the routes. The other Alpilles hotel we feature is Baumanière, on the far side of the village: the tables first, the estate’s houses around them. Choosing one or the other changes the week, and Paris and Provence takes either as its base for five nights.

Rooms and suites

The register counts 39: the hotel’s 30 rooms and suites in the main houses and its nine villas on the estate. The rooms start with the Classic (25 m², twin or queen, a shower room), meant for a short stay; the Deluxe (30 to 40 m²) adds a bath, a separate shower and a private balcony over the inner courtyard, its fountain and the pool. The suites are all 55 m² and differ by their outdoor space: the Junior Suite on the first floor above the pool, the Manville Suite with a sunroom and a loggia over the courtyard, the Suite with terrace on the ground floor opening onto it, and the Prestige Suite, set back from view, with a 26 m² terrace and a living room with a child’s bed. The Family Loft Suites are duplexes of 60 to 90 m² with two bedrooms, for a couple and two or three children.

The villas are houses of 220 m² with three or, in the four-bedroom version, four en-suite bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, a living and dining room with a fireplace and a large terrace, looking over the golf course and the Alpilles; the four-bedroom villa has a ground-floor bedroom with a full bathroom for guests with reduced mobility. The hotel does not say in words whether a villa has a pool of its own, only in a caption, nor how the nine divide among the three villa categories; we confirm both, and the villa’s exact layout, with the hotel for your dates. A villa is priced as a house, never as a double room.

If the balcony, the floor, a connecting arrangement or step-free access matters to you, tell us when you enquire and we will confirm it with the hotel before anything is booked. Rooms are ready from 3 pm and given back at midday; the hotel organises transfers from Avignon TGV and Marseille airport, which we plan with you.

03Location

Where Domaine de Manville is

Domaine de Manville lies on the plain just south-east of the rock of Les Baux-de-Provence, inside the Alpilles regional park, with the village and its château above it and the Carrières des Lumières in the quarries beyond. The map shows it with what is around it: Baumanière, the other Alpilles hotel we feature, on the far side of the village; Saint-Rémy-de-Provence over the ridge to the north-east; and Avignon TGV to the north, about half an hour by road by the hotel’s own reckoning, where the train from Paris arrives. Marseille Provence airport is about 45 minutes away by the same reckoning. For the region itself, see our Provence page.

05Planning

Planning a stay with Avelia

After discussing your plans, we prepare a tailored proposal with a quoted trip price and clear inclusions. Once you approve it and complete the agreed booking requirements, we confirm your arrangements, coordinate the details and support you while you travel.

Peace of mind

  • Clear before you commit. A written proposal with a quoted trip price and clear inclusions, before any payment.
  • Financially protected. When your stay is part of a package trip, your payments are covered against our insolvency by a guarantee with AXA. A hotel booked on its own is not a package.
  • One point of contact. From the first conversation to the last day, with support while you travel.

Experiences we can arrange

  • Private transfers from Avignon TGV, about half an hour away by the hotel’s reckoning, and from Marseille Provence airport, about 45 minutes, and onward through France
  • Les Baux, the Carrières des Lumières and an olive-oil tasting in the Alpilles, with private transport and a guide
  • A Luberon day with two villages — Gordes and Roussillon, say — rather than five
  • Avignon and the Palais des Papes with a private guide, and one Châteauneuf-du-Pape estate tasting arranged in advance
  • Green fees, Kids’ Club days and spa treatments reserved ahead, each priced separately in your quotation
  • Table reservations at L’Aupiho and in Saint-Rémy and Les Baux
