Where you stay in Rome decides how the city feels: a garden between Piazza
del Popolo and the Spanish Steps, a rooftop above them, a pool beside the
Mausoleum of Augustus, Roman baths off the Corso, or a small house by Via
Condotti. Avelia matches you with the hotel that fits how you travel, for a
stay of its own or the first nights of a journey on to the Amalfi Coast.
The rione between Piazza del Popolo, the Spanish Steps and the Tiber, crossed by Via del Babuino, Via del Corso and Via di Ripetta, with Via Condotti’s shops at the foot of the Steps. For a first stay on foot, with the squares and the shopping streets on the doorstep.
Rocco Forte's hotel between Piazza del Popolo and the Spanish Steps, with a terraced garden, Le Jardin and the Stravinskij Bar.
Suits Families, and couples who would rather have a garden than a view. It stands at the Piazza del Popolo end of Via del Babuino, a few minutes' walk from the square and about ten from the Spanish Steps. If a rooftop and dinner with Rome below you matter more, Hotel Eden, on the hill above the Steps, is the other choice.
Bulgari's hotel on the square of the Mausoleum of Augustus, with a 20-metre pool in its spa and Niko Romito's restaurant on the fifth floor.
Suits Couples and anyone marking an occasion who want a spa and a pool long enough to swim in without leaving the centre, and a first visit that wants Rome on foot: the Spanish Steps, Piazza del Popolo and the Pantheon are all a walk from the door.
A 27-room house in Rome's former school of architecture, a few steps from Via Condotti, with the J.K. Cafe and balconies over the roofs.
Suits Couples, and travellers who would rather have a small house than a large hotel; families too, in the hotel's Family Rooms. For a rooftop and the view, Hotel Eden, above the Spanish Steps, is the one to compare; for a garden, Hotel de Russie.

Ludovisi
The rione on the hill above the Spanish Steps, with Via Veneto running through it and the gardens of Villa Borghese at its edge. Quieter and higher than the streets below, for the view; the walk back from the Steps is uphill.
Dorchester Collection's hotel above the Spanish Steps, with La Terrazza and Il Giardino on the roof and a private spa.
Suits Couples and anyone marking an occasion, and a first visit that wants the view. Families are welcome too — an extra bed is free for a guest of any age from the Junior Suites upwards, and the Ludovisi Suite has two bedrooms for five — but Hotel de Russie, with its garden and children's programme, is the family house of the two.

Trevi
The rione east of Via del Corso around the Trevi Fountain, with San Marcello and the palazzi along the Corso. For the middle of the centre: the Fountain and the Pantheon are each under ten minutes on foot.
A restored palazzo off Via del Corso, with Roman Baths below, BIVIUM in the courtyard and NOTOS on the roof.
Suits Couples who travel for wellness, and families: children stay free in their parents' room within the hotel's age band, confirmed for your dates, and its two two-bedroom suites each take a family of five. Hotel de Russie is the garden house and Hotel Eden the view from the hill; this is the one for seeing the centre on foot.

03Arranging a stay
How we arrange a stay in Rome
A selection of hotels we recommend in Rome. We can also arrange other properties to suit your preferences and travel plans.
A stay in Rome can be the whole of a trip or the first nights of a journey on to the Amalfi Coast, and each of these five hotels suits a different way of seeing the city. Before any payment, we send a written proposal with a quoted trip price and what it includes — such as your room, the transfer from Fiumicino or Ciampino arranged with the hotel, the Vatican Museums or the Colosseum with a guide, and reservations at Rome's best tables — and refine it with you. Once you approve the proposal and complete the agreed booking requirements, we confirm your arrangements. We coordinate the details and support you while you travel.
Peace of mind
Financially protected. When your stay is part of a package trip, your payments are covered against our insolvency by a guarantee with AXA. A hotel booked on its own is not a package. Plan with peace of mind
