- It is a country estate, not a beach hotel or a town one: the sea is a mile off, the Beach Club a shuttle ride, and Marbella, Estepona and the villages a drive away. The Beach Club does not open every day outside July and August.

Rooms and suites
The hotel is built after an Andalusian cortijo, around open courtyards with fountains, and every room is a suite, most with ceilings four metres high. The Junior Suites and Junior View Suites, 52 m², each have a private patio or terrace and a marble bathroom with a bathtub, a walk-in rain shower and two basins. The Executive Suites, 77 m², add a separate lounge, a Juliet balcony and terraces looking out to the Mediterranean; the Garden Suites, 95 m², a separate lounge and a private garden or a terrace over the gardens. The Pool Suites Sea View, 80 m², open onto a wide terrace with a private pool, looking out to the sea, and the Cortesín Suites, 180 m², the largest, have a separate living room and a bathroom in travertine marble.
For families, the Family Suite, 120 m², joins an Executive Suite and a Junior Suite behind a shared front door: two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a sitting room, with a terrace or a private garden. Beyond the hotel there are private residences, served by it: the La Reserva villas, with four en-suite bedrooms, a living room with a log fire, a kitchen, a garden and a private pool; and the Green 10 houses, with five en-suite bedrooms, private gardens and pools, looking to the Sierra Bermeja and, from most of them, the sea.

On the practical side: valet parking is included, room service runs around the clock, and we arrange the private transfer from Málaga airport, or from Gibraltar’s. If you need a suite adapted for reduced mobility, tell us and we will confirm one with the hotel for your dates.

Eating and drinking
El Jardín de Lutz, where breakfast is served à la carte every morning, is open for dinner every night too: Spanish cooking with a modern touch, from local produce in season, on a terrace looking over olive groves to the sea. REI, which the hotel calls its signature restaurant, serves Asian dishes and an Asian–Mediterranean menu from an open kitchen, with seafood and vegetables from the finca’s own garden. Don Giovanni is Italian, the Costa del Sol house of a Sicilian chef’s Madrid restaurant. Both serve dinner only, and each closes one night a week.
By day, Pool 35 serves Mediterranean dishes and grills beside the 35-metre pool; the Clubhouse, at the start of the golf course a few minutes’ walk from the hotel, serves salads, pastas and burgers with views over the course to the sea; and the Beach Club’s restaurant, on the beach, serves seafood, paellas and salads. The Blue Bar, in the hotel’s lounge, with a terrace and a Moroccan lounge, serves tapas, teas and cocktails from the morning until late.

Where Finca Cortesín is
Finca Cortesín stands in the municipality of Casares, on its stretch of the Costa del Sol, about a mile inland from the sea by the hotel’s own reckoning. The map shows it with the village of Casares in the hills to the north-west, Bahía de Casares on the coast below, and the town of Estepona along the coast to the north-east.
