When to go
Spring March to May
Fresh and bright: highs rise from about 19°C (66°F) in March to 25°C (77°F) in May, with rain on four to six days a month. Good weather for the Generalife's gardens.
EventsSemana Santa, 21 to 28 March in 2027; the Día de la Cruz around 3 May; and the Corpus fair in late May or June.
Summer June to August
Hot and dry, with highs of about 31°C (88°F) in June and nights near 16°C (61°F). The Festival de Música y Danza brings concerts to the Alhambra in June and July.
Heat: in July and August the average daytime high is 34–35°C (93–95°F). Take the Alhambra early or by night, and the middle of the day indoors.
Autumn September to November
Highs ease from about 29°C (84°F) in September to 17°C (63°F) in November, and the rain returns, on five to seven days a month in October and November.
Winter December to February
Bright days and cold nights: highs of 13–15°C (55–59°F), lows near freezing, frost on about half of January's nights, and rain on six or seven days a month.

How many nights should we spend in Granada?
We recommend two or three nights for Granada itself, and four if you would like a day in the Sierra Nevada or the Alpujarras.
When is the best time to visit Granada?
March to May and September to November. Spring brings Semana Santa and the Corpus fair; in July and August the heat moves the Alhambra to the early morning and the night visits; winter is bright and cold, with skiing in the Sierra Nevada.
Can I include Granada in a larger Spain itinerary?
