Twenty rooms on a garden square in the old centre, a few minutes' walk from the Cathedral, with a rooftop bar above the square's trees and a heated pool in marble below.
Who it suits
Couples who want a five-star house at a small scale in the middle of the old centre, with a rooftop for the evening.
What to consider
The rooftop is a bar as much as a terrace: in the hotel's own words, an icon of Granada's social life. The Alhambra stands on its hill to the east, a taxi ride or an uphill walk away.
02The hotel
The hotel and its rooms
Seda Club takes its name and its theme from the Silk Road, and styles itself
a hotel with the soul of a private club. It occupies a late 19th-century
residential building with Moorish touches on the corner of the Plaza de la
Trinidad, restored with Rockwell Group, and keeps a central courtyard of
fountains and bougainvillea.
Rooms and suites
Twenty rooms and suites, in five kinds. The Deluxe rooms (25–26 m²)
look onto the hotel’s Andalusian courtyard or onto the Plaza de la
Trinidad, and the Deluxe Patio rooms, the same size, have a private
terrace opening onto the central courtyard. The Grand Deluxe rooms
(32–37 m²) have balconies over the square’s gardens and its baroque
fountain. The Suites (40–45 m²)
add a separate lounge, a bathtub and a balcony over the square or the lanes
behind it, and the Royal Alcove, at more than 75 m², has two bedrooms
and a living room. Every room has a king-size bed and a pillow menu.
If an outlook on the square or the courtyard matters to you, or step-free
access, which the hotel’s own site does not describe, tell us when you
enquire and we will confirm it with the hotel for your dates before
anything is booked.
On the practical side: the hotel runs a parking service, taking your
car from you on arrival, and it welcomes dogs, for a supplement.
At the hotel
Facilities
A wellness area in marble, with a heated pool, a swan-neck jet and a sensation shower
Massages, body rituals, facials and beauty treatments, in a private treatment room
A gym with Technogym equipment
A concierge around the clock
Eating and drinking
The Seda Club restaurant reworks the cooking of Granada with local,
seasonal produce and contemporary technique, taking the Silk Road as its
theme. There is a Silk tasting menu and a halal version of the menu, a
brunch with live music at weekends, and an afternoon tea. The cocktail
bar stands beside the restaurant, and El Clandestino, a small lounge
for after dinner, keeps the same bar service. On the top floor, the
rooftop looks over the Plaza de la Trinidad to the Cathedral, with
cocktails and small plates. Breakfast is à la carte, and Seda Café, in
the square’s old kiosk, serves breakfasts and snacks.
03Location
Where Seda Club is
Seda Club stands at Calle Buensuceso 2, on the corner of the Plaza de la
Trinidad, a garden square in Granada’s Centro histórico laid out where
a convent once stood, with the convent’s 18th-century fountain at its
centre. The map shows it with what is around it: the Plaza de Bib-Rambla
and the Cathedral a few minutes’ walk east, Plaza Nueva beyond them, and
the Alhambra on its hill. For the city itself, see our
Granada page and our
Granada guide.
