01Is it for you?

Is Palacio de los Patos right for your stay?

Why choose it
The palace, in the middle of the city: a 19th-century villa built around an imperial marble staircase, with a restaurant in its garden and a spa beneath it.
Who it suits
Couples who want a palace in the centre to walk out from, and families, in suites that take up to four.
What to consider
It stands in the commercial centre, not in the Albaicín or on the Alhambra's hill: the Alhambra is about 1.3 km away in a straight line and uphill, a 15-minute drive by the hotel's reckoning.

02The hotel

The hotel and its rooms

The Palacio de los Patos was built as a suburban villa for the Moreno-Agrela family, on what was then the edge of Granada, beside the market gardens of the vega. It is planned around an imperial marble staircase lit by an octagonal lantern, and its symmetrical façade is centred on a porch of slender cast-iron columns that carries the main balcony. Part of its garden was lost when Calle Recogidas was widened.

Today it faces a contemporary building of alabaster and glass, the Alabastro, across a garden, and the two together are the hotel.

For the city around it, our Granada travel guide covers what to see and when to go, and where to stay in Granada sets out our hotels side by side.

Rooms and suites

The rooms are in two buildings. In the 19th-century palace are the Dreamers Palace rooms (20–30 m²), the Deluxe rooms (35 m²), the Junior Suites, the Grand Junior Suite (53 m², over the garden at the main entrance), the Palace Suite (65 m², with a living room under sloping ceilings) and the Grand Presidential (70 m², with a living room and a balcony of its own over the city). Many of the palace rooms keep their mosaic floors and the painted decoration of their original ceilings, and they look over the garden or the city.

Across the garden, the contemporary Alabastro building holds the Dreamer’s rooms (20–30 m²), in glass, alabaster and parquet, looking onto the garden; some of them take an extra bed for a third guest. The Privilege rooms (20–30 m², with outside views) and the Suite Privilege (50 m², with a living room and a large private terrace, for up to four) add private check-in, breakfast, parking and an open minibar. Every room has a king-size bed or two singles.

If a particular outlook, bed configuration or step-free access matters to you, tell us when you enquire and we will confirm it with the hotel for your dates before anything is booked.

On the practical side: the hotel’s private parking is limited, so tell us if you are driving; room service runs around the clock; dogs are welcome; and the hotel is adapted for guests with reduced mobility.
