The hotel and its rooms
Hotel Fariones stands above a cove in Puerto del Carmen, on the south coast of Lanzarote. It was the first hotel built on the island, in the 1960s, and it reopened in 2020 after a rebuild; the MICHELIN Guide lists it among the island’s hotels. The garden around it is more than forty years old, and three beaches are reached straight from it — Playa Chica, immediately below, is one of Lanzarote’s main diving spots.
Rooms and suites
All 213 rooms and suites look out to sea, most of them over the palms to the water, with tiled balconies and marble bathrooms. The upper rooms open onto a rooftop pool and bar of their own.

Eating and drinking
Eating is spread across the day and the garden. Kaori is the Asian kitchen; Erizo cooks Atlantic fish and seafood; the Bella Lucía buffet handles breakfast and the family table; La Barra serves lighter plates and cocktails by the pool, with a fresh juice bar beside it. Much of the produce comes from Uga Farm, the group’s own farm on the island, and from Lanzarote suppliers.

Hotel Fariones is on Calle Roque del Este in Puerto del Carmen, the largest of Lanzarote’s resort towns, on the south coast.
