What to consider
It is a resort at scale — nine restaurants, sports courts and its own children's park — so it is at its busiest in the school holidays. Playa Blanca is at the southern tip of the island, furthest from Timanfaya and the Manrique centres in the north.

The hotel and its rooms
Princesa Yaiza stands on the seafront promenade at Playa Blanca, at the
southern tip of Lanzarote, looking across the strait to Fuerteventura. It is
built as a white Canarian village of arcades, domes and shaded terraces around
gardens and pools, and it is one of the three hotels on the island that the
Canary register classes Cinco Estrellas Lujo. The beach at Playa
Dorada is at the foot of it, and the marina and the shops of Playa Blanca are
along the promenade.
Rooms and suites
All 330 rooms are suites, with beamed ceilings, tiled floors and a sitting
area; many face the sea. The scale means
families and couples can use the resort differently without getting in each
other’s way.

Nine restaurants cover the day — buffets, à la carte rooms and children’s
menus — and much of what they cook comes from Finca de Uga, the group’s
own farm on the island, and from other Lanzarote suppliers. The hotel does
not publish the restaurants’ names, so we confirm what is open for your
dates before anything is booked.

Princesa Yaiza is on the Avenida de Papagayo, on the seafront promenade at
Playa Blanca, at the southern tip of the island. The map shows it with
the beach at Playa Dorada below, the town to the west, Marina Rubicón along
