What to consider
It is a 400-metre walk uphill from the centre of Puerto del Carmen, so the seafront and the restaurants are a walk down and a climb back. Only the Junior Piscina suites have a pool of their own. The hotel's own site does not say whether it takes children, so we confirm that with them for your dates.

La Isla y el Mar stands on the slope above Puerto del Carmen, on the south
coast of Lanzarote, high enough to look over the palms and the rooftops to the
Atlantic. It is built of dark local stone in long low lines, to a bioclimatic
design: the shape of the building, its orientation and a geothermal system do
much of the heating and cooling, and it holds the Biosphere Responsible
Tourism certification.
Rooms and suites
There are 81 suites in five categories — Premium, Clásica, Junior
Piscina, Excelencia and Deluxe — quiet contemporary rooms in earth
tones, most with a terrace facing the sea. The Junior Piscina suites have
a small private pool of their own.
