Seville guide
Song, dance and guitar for your party alone, in a Seville house or palace, with dinner around it if you wish.
By Ramin Jafari · Facts checked
A private flamenco evening in Seville is a performance for your party alone, by dancers, a singer and a guitarist, in a historic house or palace rather than a theatre, about an hour long, with dinner arranged around it if you wish. We arrange it on request, subject to availability. Flamenco is heard best in its own city, and this page says what the evening is, where it can take place and where to hear it in public; the rest of the city is in our things to do in Seville.

The evening
The artists, the house, and dinner around it: what a private flamenco evening involves.
Flamenco is three arts at once, in UNESCO’s words: song, dance and musicianship, the cante, the baile and the toque. A private performance brings them to your party alone, a dancer or two with a singer and a guitarist, close enough to see the footwork, in a historic house or palace rather than a theatre. Traditional or more contemporary flamenco is the artists’ choice; tell us what you would like and we ask for it.
The evening can be a couple’s, for a honeymoon, an anniversary or a birthday, or a small group’s. Dinner can be arranged around the performance, Andalusian dishes with wines and sherry to match, and a day in the city with a guide can end with it: see our private architecture and cultural tours. A driver takes you there and back. More of what we arrange in the city is among the experiences on our Seville page.
Where
A palace that hosts private events, the two old quarters, a flamenco centre and the city’s oldest promenade.
In the old town
The palace of the Dukes of Medinaceli, built mostly in the 15th and 16th centuries, mixes Gothic, Mudéjar and Renaissance work around its courtyards, and its foundation opens it for private events. A private flamenco performance there can be requested, subject to availability.
The old Jewish quarter
Seville’s Jewish quarter until 1492, Santa Cruz is a tangle of winding lanes, the Callejón del Agua among them, small squares such as Doña Elvira and Los Venerables, and courtyards full of flowers and fountains. A performance in one of its houses, in the courtyard, can be arranged on request.
Across the Guadalquivir
Across the river, the city calls Triana the birthplace of potters, bullfighters, sailors and flamenco artists, and its peñas and tablaos still have flamenco live. An evening there can begin in the old potters’ quarter, among the workshops that keep its ceramics alive, and end with a performance.
Calle Cuna, in the centre
A flamenco cultural centre in the middle of the old town, with an exhibition and a performance every day in a small room. It is a public performance rather than a private one, and the place we suggest for flamenco on an evening you have not set aside for your own. Seats are few, so we reserve them.
North of the centre
Laid out in 1574 and held to be the oldest public promenade in Europe, the Alameda runs between two Roman columns crowned with Hercules and Julius Caesar, and is now one of the city’s liveliest places in the evening, for tapas on its terraces, its bars and its small theatres. A table there makes a good start or end to a flamenco night.
