01Is it for you?

Is Palacio Villapanés right for your stay?

Why choose it
It is a palace and it is small: forty-eight rooms around a courtyard of scalloped arches on marble columns, built in the first third of the 18th century for a naval officer, with a roof terrace that looks across the tiled roofs to the Giralda.
Who it suits
Couples who want an 18th-century palace at a small scale, with a spa and a small pool on the roof terrace.
What to consider
The pool on the roof is a plunge pool, not one to swim in, and the spa area is for adults and children over sixteen. The Deluxe and Premium rooms take no extra bed.

02The hotel

The hotel and its rooms

Palacio Villapanés is a Sevillian baroque house-palace on Calle Santiago, built in the first third of the 18th century for the naval officer Manuel López Pintado. Its courtyard is the centre of it — scalloped arches on slender marble columns around a chequerboard marble floor — and a lookout tower still crowns the façade.

On the roof there is a terrace with a plunge pool, looking across the old tiled roofs to the Giralda; below it are the spa, the gym, the orange-tree patio and the restaurant, Los Rincones del Marqués.

For the city around it, our Seville travel guide covers what to see and when to go, and where to stay in Seville sets out the areas with our hotels compared side by side.

Rooms and suites

Forty-eight rooms on Andalusia’s tourism register — the hotel’s own pages list fifty — in four categories, all different because the building is a palace. Deluxe (eighteen of them, 25–35 m²) and Premium (seventeen, 30–50 m²) take no extra bed. Palace rooms run 40–70 m², and there are six suites of 50–70 m², each named — Maestro, Palacio, Villapanés, Sevilla, Marqués and Torreón. Rooms look over the city or into the courtyard, and keep antique elements such as the wooden floors alongside contemporary furniture.

The hotel publishes rooms adapted for people with reduced mobility but does not say how many or in which categories, and it publishes no bed configurations. If a particular outlook, bed configuration or step-free access matters to you, tell us when you enquire and we will confirm it with the hotel for your dates before anything is booked.

On the practical side: parking is on request, with valet parking and a Tesla charger, there is room service around the clock, and the hotel will arrange transfers.
