Where to go, where to stay and what to plan for two, step by step.

To plan a luxury honeymoon in Spain, choose two or three places that differ from one another, then the hotels, then the few things you want to plan for two, and how you will travel between them; leave room for rest, and for a surprise or two. Start with our honeymoon trips to Spain, for the places, the hotels and a fourteen-day itinerary; this article is the longer read on how we would plan one with you.

Where to go
Spain is several countries for a honeymoon: cities to walk, a coast and islands, and wine country. The places we would start from:
For a honeymoon on one island, see our honeymoon in Mallorca.
Where to stay
Look for a suite or a room with a terrace of its own, a small house rather than a large one, or a building with a story. Seven we recommend, one for each place above and two more (Hotel Arts is being renovated until June 2027; its page says what that means for a stay). For more, see our ten boutique hotels and our five-star hotels in Spain.

For two
Not too many: a honeymoon needs empty afternoons. Each of these is on request, subject to availability.
More ideas are among the experiences across Spain we arrange.
Getting around
Between places, a car and a driver of your own; between the great cities, Renfe’s high-speed AVE, in Prémium, its class with the larger seat and food and drink served at your seat. And once at least, a day on the water: a private yacht with a skipper along the Marbella coast or around Mallorca. For a slower journey, see Spain’s luxury trains.
Rest and small touches
Give the trip a slow day for every two busy ones. Spend an afternoon in a hotel spa — the seawater pool and treatments of the Thalasso Spa at Marbella Club, for one — or in one of Granada’s Arab baths, with a massage.
The small things are ours to arrange, and to keep quiet until the moment: champagne and flowers in the suite when you arrive, a dinner table with a view, an hour with a photographer somewhere beautiful. Each on request, subject to the hotel and availability.
